Terms of Use
Effective 6 August 2026
The short version
It's a party game. The app hands you a written prompt; what you actually do about it is entirely your choice and entirely your responsibility. Nothing in the game is an instruction, and no prompt is worth getting hurt, arrested, or thrown out over.
Tiers 4 and 5 are for adults. Don't switch them on if you're under 18, and don't play them around people who haven't agreed to.
Who these terms are with
Truth or Dare: Escalating is built and owned by Kin Leon Zinzombe. It is published to the Apple App Store and Google Play through the developer account of Wyven Technologies Private Limited, which acts as publisher of record only.
By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.
Your licence to use the app
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment. You may not:
- Copy, sell, rent, sub-licence or redistribute the app or its prompt content
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source or the prompt bank, except where law expressly permits it
- Remove or obscure any branding or notices
- Use the app or its content to build a competing product
Age and adult content
The app is rated for adults and is not directed at children. Tiers 4 and 5 contain sexual references and adult themes. They are switched off by default and require confirming you are 18 or older before they can be enabled.
Confirming that when it isn't true is a breach of these terms. If you are handing the phone to a group, it is on you to know who is in the room before turning adult content on.
Play sensibly — this is the important part
The prompts are suggestions for a game, not advice, dares you are obliged to complete, or instructions of any kind. You are entirely responsible for what you and the people around you choose to do.
Specifically:
- Never do anything that risks injury to yourself or anyone else
- Never do anything illegal, and never involve anyone who hasn't agreed to play
- Never treat a prompt as consent — consent comes from the person, not the app
- Skip anything you're not comfortable with. Skipping costs one point. That's the entire penalty, and it exists so skipping feels cheap rather than difficult
- Don't combine the game with alcohol, driving, heights, water, or anything else where poor judgement carries a real cost
A written prompt on a screen cannot know who is in the room, what your situation is, or what is safe where you are. You can. Use your judgement, and stop the game if it stops being fun for anyone playing.
Content
Prompts are written to be provocative, and humour is subjective — you may find some of them crude, unfunny, or not to your taste. Adult content can be switched off entirely in Settings, which caps the game at tier 3.
If a prompt seems genuinely harmful rather than merely uncomfortable, please report it to the address at the bottom of this page. That feedback is the main way the bank improves.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, and we may change or discontinue it at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any injury, loss, damage, embarrassment, relationship, property, or other consequence arising from playing the game or from acts you or anyone else chooses to perform in connection with it.
The app is a free entertainment product that suggests text. The decisions are yours. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Price and purchases
The app is currently free with no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. If paid features are added later, they will be clearly marked and handled by Apple or Google, under their refund policies rather than ours.
Ending your use
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may end your licence if you breach these terms, though in practice there is no account to suspend — the app runs entirely on your device.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the app changes. The effective date at the top will change when they do, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the revision.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. This does not remove any consumer protection you have under the law of the country you live in.
